One CBM is roughly one standard pallet. A small Amazon seller typically stores between one and ten CBM at any time. Enterprise sellers storing hundreds of CBM, quote us separately, there are volume discussions we can have.

Receiving handles truck arrivals, CBM measurement on intake, and photos of every carton. Dry storage fills the largest zone with standard racking for general goods at the published AED 85 rate. Cold storage sits in a sealed, climate-controlled room for food, cosmetics, and temperature-sensitive items at AED 120. The pick zone holds fast-moving SKUs closer to the pack stations so fulfillment orders clear quickly. Outbound staging is where dispatched orders wait for the carrier pickup, sorted by delivery route.
The hidden fees we don't charge.
Most UAE 3PLs publish a monthly storage rate and then add fees you only see on the invoice. Inbound handling. Monthly minimums. Per-order pick and pack. Long-term storage penalties once your stock sits six months or more. Here is a typical fee schedule versus what you actually pay on a SamVertex invoice.
The sample on the right is a SamVertex invoice for a seller storing five cubic meters of dry goods over six months. AED 85 times five CBM times six months is AED 2,550, full stop. Fulfillment, FBA prep, and delivery are quoted and billed separately based on what you actually send out. What we do not charge for, and what plenty of UAE 3PLs do charge for, is handling your stock on the way in or when customers return it.

We don't charge long-term storage penalties. Your rate stays flat at AED 85 per CBM per month whether stock sits one month or twenty-four. That said, costs do accumulate, and clear math beats surprises. Here is what one CBM of stored inventory costs cumulatively over two years at each rate.
At the twelve month mark, dry storage has quietly added AED 1,020 per CBM to your cost base, cold storage AED 1,440. That math works fine for slow-moving SKUs with healthy margins, and it stops working for SKUs turning over at low margins. We don't push you to move stock, but we do tell you honestly what the ledger looks like so you can decide.
Storage and fulfillment in the same warehouse.
Most 3PLs separate storage from fulfillment. Your stock sits in warehouse A, and when orders start coming in, it transfers to fulfillment facility B (and you pay the transfer). SamVertex doesn't do that. Storage and fulfillment are the same building, the same team, the same system.
Practically, that means when an order drops via Shopify, Amazon, Noon, or manual entry, the carton your stock is sitting in gets pulled from the rack, packed, labeled, and dispatched without changing ownership, location, or invoicing system. You pay storage until the unit ships, then you pay for the fulfillment and delivery. No transfer fees, no mode changes, no delays.

CBM we measure, not the CBM your supplier claimed
We remeasure every carton on intake. Suppliers often round down dimensions to look cheaper on the quote. If the carton arrives larger than quoted, you pay for actual volume. Ask your supplier for verified dimensions before shipping.

Single-SKU cartons clear fulfillment faster
Mixed-SKU cartons require sort-on-intake which adds labor time. If your supplier can pack one SKU per carton and label clearly, your stock hits the rack hours after arrival instead of days.

Cold storage needs advance notice
Our cold storage capacity is finite. If a temperature-sensitive shipment shows up unannounced, we may not have space and the cargo sits at ambient until we relocate other stock. Tell us a week ahead so we reserve the space.

Damaged packaging gets flagged at intake
Cartons damaged in transit get photographed and quarantined. You decide: accept and we re-package (at cost), or reject and claim against the carrier. Either way you hear from us within business hours of intake.

SKU registration unlocks dashboard visibility
Our Odoo portal shows your stock in real time, but only for SKUs registered in advance. Send us a SKU list with product data (description, weight, dimensions) before the cargo lands, and your stock is visible from day one. Without registration, intake takes longer and visibility lags.

How do you measure CBM on intake?
We measure every carton's length, width, and height in centimeters, multiply, and divide by one million to get CBM per carton. Sum those across all cartons in the shipment. We photograph the measurement process for your records.
What's the difference between dry and cold storage, and what goes where?
Dry storage at AED 85 per CBM per month handles general goods with no temperature requirements, roughly 80 percent of what we store. Cold storage at AED 120 per CBM per month is for food, cosmetics with certain ingredients (alcohol-based, oil-based), supplements, and items that warp or degrade in typical Dubai summer heat. If you are unsure, we advise based on the product category.
Is there a minimum storage duration?
No. You can store for one month, one week, or one day. We bill for the partial month at pro-rata. No commitment, no contract.
Can I move stock between dry and cold storage if my needs change?
Yes. We handle the relocation, and billing switches to the new rate from the relocation date. Give us notice of a day or two.
How do I access my inventory data?
Through our Odoo portal at samvertex.odoo.com. You log in, see your stock levels by SKU in real time, view intake and outbound history, and download reports. Access is included in the storage rate, no extra fee.
Do you accept returns back into storage?
Yes. Returns get inspected, re-packaged if resellable, and put back in storage or disposed per your instruction. Returns handling is priced per case based on labor and disposition, quoted separately.
What happens if my stock gets damaged in your warehouse?
We cover replacement or net cost per the Warehouse Storage Agreement terms. We photograph stock condition on intake and at every handling event so there is a record of when damage occurred.
Can I visit the warehouse to see my stock?
Yes, with a day's notice so we can have your stock ready for you to inspect. Our address is Ras Al Khor Industrial Area 2, Dubai. Ask for the warehouse team when you arrive.
How fast can you start storing my stock after I sign up?
Same week. Onboarding is a brief contract, SKU list setup, and confirmation of storage type. Once your cargo arrives at our warehouse, it goes on the rack within a few hours of intake (faster with pre-registered SKUs).
Do you insure stored inventory?
The warehouse carries general liability coverage. For higher-value stock or specific coverage needs, we recommend sellers carry their own inventory insurance and we can coordinate with your provider. Ask at quote stage and we will walk you through options.
Do I need to be a business to store with SamVertex?
No. Individuals can rent storage too. Same pricing per CBM, same monthly invoicing, same facility. Common use cases include storage during a move, between homes, while travelling long-term, or for collectors with inventory that needs climate control. Pick and pack services are optimised for e-commerce sellers, so individuals typically use us for straight storage.
